His earliest introduction to plastic surgery was through his uncle, Dr. John Hartley, former president of the Southeastern Society of Plastic Surgeons. When he was fifteen years old, he spent a summer in the operating room observing his Uncle's procedures. He has been dedicated to the specialty ever since. Dr. Kuisle has been practicing cosmetic and reconstructive plastic surgery in Boulder, Colorado since 1984. He received his B.A. degree in 1969 from the University of Iowa, and he earned his M.D. in 1973 from Northwestern University Medical School.
