I had the mommy makeover done and haven't felt this good about myself in 20 years. I started to consider having a tummy tuck about 5 years post pregnancy. I had two 9 lb. babies and don't have very elastic skin. Additionally, I gained over 50 lbs. with them. After taking the weight off my skin just hung. I did weeks' worth of research prior to even contacting a plastic surgeon. Once I did, I sought out 4 different surgeons for consultations. Because I had done my homework prior to seeing anyone I felt I had a list of intelligent questions to ask. Dr. Chick was the second surgeon I saw. I knew right away that this was going to be my surgeon. However, I didn't want to make any decisions without seeking several opinions. And my gut instincts were right. I couldn't be happier with my decision. Dr. Chick does such amazing work. He also got me in contact with a massage therapist, Ruth, who helped tremendously in my recovery. His staff was very helpful as well. Alyson has so much insight and was full of recommendations for both pre and post op that I am grateful to have had her to ask questions to as well. Dr. Howland was born and raised in Murray, Utah. He developed manual dexterity together with a love for the arts through thirteen years of piano lessons. Before pursuing his undergraduate degree at the University of Utah, he successfully fulfilled a 2-year church mission to St. Petersburg, Russia. During that period, Dr. Howland was selected as the lead interpreter as well as coordinator for volunteer efforts in the world-renowned Hermitage Museum. This volunteer effort was during the 300-year celebration of the founding of St. Petersburg as a city, and Dr. Howland further developed a profound love as well as appreciation for art and the human form as he gave countless tours of the museum. Upon coming back from Russia, Dr. Howland embarked on his long pathway of training. He finished cum laude from the University of Utah with a degree in Business Administration and minors in Chemistry and Russian Literature. This was on top of the difficult pre-med pathway. He was early taken into medical school at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas. It was here that Dr. Howland started to work on basic science and clinical research in the industry of plastic and reconstructive surgery. As a leading student in his graduating class, he was taken on among the nation's top medical students into the highly competitive six-year integrated plastic and reconstructive residency program at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas.
